On 6 March 2025, S4 and S5 students taking Ethics & Religious Studies went on a pilgrimage to St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery. Accompanied by Sr. Helen and Religious Education teachers, the visit aimed to deepen their understanding of life and death from a Catholic perspective.
During the excursion, students explored the symbolic meanings and religious significance of various iconic symbols scattered throughout the cemetery. They gained profound insights into the spiritual significance of these symbols, which transcend time and culture, thus enriching their knowledge and shaping their personal beliefs.
A special aspect of our journey was visiting the gravesites of our beloved MNDA sisters. Our girls expressed their gratitude through prayers and by offering white roses on their graves, acknowledging their enduring love and dedication to our school and the Clarian community.
The pilgrimage to St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery provided practical insights into the theoretical discussions about Personal, Social & Humanities issues related to life and death. It encouraged students to actively reflect on the essence of life and the Christian belief in the promise of eternal life granted by God.
