To foster students’ ability to effectively and ethically use information, a series of educational activities was held during the Whole Person Development period on 26th March. The breakdown of the sessions organized for each grade level is as follows:
S1-S2: Interactive Drama on Intellectual Property
Our S1-S2 students participated in an interactive drama presented by the Intellectual Property Department. This session educated them on the importance of respecting intellectual property rights and highlighted the consequences of internet infringement, emphasizing the need for creativity and originality.
S3: Workshop on Online Sexual Pitfalls
This workshop addressed the risks associated with interacting with strangers online. Students were educated about the severe impacts of sexual traps and the importance of maintaining safety and privacy on the internet.
S4: Workshop on Ethical Use of Information Technology
S4 students engaged in a workshop focused on the ethical issues associated with the use of emerging and advanced information technologies. The session underlined the responsibility of users in navigating online platforms and disseminating information thoughtfully.
S5: Workshop on Analyzing the Authenticity of News
In collaboration with the Hong Kong Press Council, a workshop was arranged for S5 students on critically analyzing information found on social media. The workshop aimed to enhance their skills in assessing the authenticity of news from various sources and adopting a broader perspective on daily news.
These activities align with our school’s major concern to equipping students with essential generic skills to navigate and scrutinize information in today’s digital world.
